Latest Hitman Takes Out Mac Contract

After a brief spell of living in the past, Feral Interactive have returned to the modern era in search of games to bring to the Mac. They’ve announced today that Hitman: Absolution, the fifth game in the series featuring contract killer Agent 47, will be available for Mac this spring as an “Elite Edition”:

As Agent 47, players will become the ultimate assassin as they master superhuman reflexes, creative stealth techniques and a powerful arsenal of weapons to pull off both clean kills and dramatic executions. While using disguises and distractions to remain undetected, resourceful players can exploit environmental hazards to pull off imaginative hits that make deaths look like accidents.

All previously released additional content will be included in Hitman: Absolution – Elite Edition, including Hitman: Sniper Challenge. In this standalone mission, players engineer a long-range hit, using only their sharp-shooting abilities to pull off audacious kills and cover their tracks.

As usual, it’s not clear which platform the game (which received generally favourable reviews from anyone that wasn’t a hardcore Hitman nut) will be released on, but it’s a good bet that the Mac App Store will be one of them, but the “Elite Edition” suggests maybe this won’t include Steam. This is another Square Enix published game to be ported by Feral, let’s hope it’s as good as Tomb Raider.
