Barkley, Shut Up and Jam For Free, Sequel Kickstarted

Barkley: Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden, Chapter 1 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa is a ridiculous name for a game that can only really be described as a comedic sports-themed JRPG. Eurogamer’s Peter Parrish said it had “done the fledgling retro-sports-action-based-JRPG-comedy genre proud” way back in 2008. Now it’s been ported to Mac, and released for free:

We are also very excited to announce that in addition to Barkley 2, we are also releasing a Mac port of Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden for free. Ported by Leon Arnott, the Barkley Mac port and original PC versions are available completely for free on the Tales of Game’s site. Please check them out if you haven’t played them!

All of this is presumably to drum up interest in the even more ridiculously-named sequel: “The Magical Realms of Tír na nÓg: Escape from Necron 7 – Revenge of Cuchulainn: The Official Game of the Movie – Chapter 2 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa” (aka Barkley 2), which is in the process of being Kickstarted and has just passed its Mac port stretch goal.
