That’s right, Fallout 2 returns to Mac after a decade. Undoubtedly one of the best RPGs ever made, the game was released on 2002 when Mac OS 10.2 was just making waves. It fixes many issues the original game had, and was sadly never continued, with Black Isle going defunct, and Fallout 3 taken in a different direction (and away from Apple computers).
But now, thanks to Gog.com, the game will now run properly on Intel-based Macs, with OS 10.6.8 or newer required.
That’s not all though, as Gog have also released 9 other games for Mac OS today:
- Legend of Grimrock
- Blackwell Bundle
- Alpha Centauri
- Sid Meier’s Colonization
- Postal 2 Complete
- Ultima 7: The Complete Edition
- Freespace (and its expansion)
- Terminal Velocity
- Conquest of the New World
Also of note in that list is Ultima 7, which we’ve covered before, but will now be less hassle to get running.
They also bring word that Geneforge 1-5 will also be available next Tuesday. As with all games in the Gog catalogue, if you’ve previously bought Windows versions of these from Gog, you’ll find Mac download links in your account.
