Papers, Please Allowed Across Steam’s Border

Lucas Pope’s Papers, Please is a little gem of a game. It sees you working for border control in a fictional, somewhat fascist country of Arstotzka, balancing the opposing needs of earning money for your increasingly sick and starving family, versus letting similarly desperate people across the border.

The gameplay is rather simple, seeing you look for discrepancies in would-be immigrants’ documents, whilst actually giving you the option to simply ignore the facts and do the right thing (all the while having the game elegantly providing arch commentary on the situation). It’s just been approved by Steam’s Greenlight process, so we’ll see it on the dark grey virtual store soon.

In the meantime, the beta version of the game is still available to play for free, and you can watch Mr. TotalBiscuit’s comprehensive impressions below.
