Lord of the Rings Online, On Mac
Lord of the Rings Online launched over 5 years ago, with people asking for a Mac client the whole time. Recently it went free to play (seeing revenue triple), and whisperings of a Mac client started to surface. Well now the wait is finally over, with the Mac client available to download.
In an interview with TUAW, the developers talk about why they felt now was the right time to go Mac:
There haven’t been a lot of MMOs or free-to-play games on the Mac yet, which we think is an opportunity. We’re hopeful we’re going to get lots of new players. We’re very excited to welcome the Mac community firsthand … We’d like to see what this IP and this game means to them personally.
