Guns of Icarus Sets Sail

In amongst all the Halloween sale kerfuffle on Steam, Guns of Icarus Online, a multiplayer game with flying steampunk galleons(!) doing battle with each other, is now available.

Another kickstarter success story, finding 1,211 backers and raising 350% of its target, it’s a little behind its scheduled release date of March 2012, but is already generating a bit of a buzz with its gorgeous Unity-powered engine and gameplay:

Guns of Icarus Online is the first co-operative airship combat game mixing together first-person shooter action with team-based strategy. Up to four people will crew a ship, taking on one of the key roles of Captain, Gunner, or Engineer joining a team and fighting against other ships above the post-apocalyptic waste. In Guns of Icarus Online, it will take teamwork and tactics to dominate the skies.
